Ambulance and Emergency

The Emergency Department of Remera Rukoma Hospital  is a Level one emergency treatment facility which is open 24 hours service every day, fully staffed with 1 physician and 3 nurses at all times.

The scope of the Hospital emergency practice includes 24-hour care of:

    • Consultation
    • Nursing care and treatment
    • Minor surgery
    • Resuscitation
    • Care of burned patients

All patients presenting to the facility requesting emergency treatment are medically screened by the Emergency Department physician. The Emergency Department patients are then evaluated for response to treatment and are admitted in the different departments based on the diagnosis of the illness.  

The Emergency Department at Remera Rukoma District Hospital has 9 treatment beds which include 2 resuscitation beds. Also, we have 1 room to accommodate less urgent cases. 

It is the continuous mission of the Emergency Department to provide safe, timely, quality emergency patient care in a compassionate and culturally sensitive manner.
